Use Keyways For Correct
Position
Keyways are not standard on shaped punches. For positive location of a shaped punch when using coupling nut mountings, a keyway should be used between the punch stem and head of the punch. Ideally, the punch stem will have two keyways at 90°. Then, only one keyway of the same style and size is needed on the punch head. Standard keyway positions (see illustrations) will be furnished unless otherwise specified. If ordering special keyway positions, please indicate the direction, shape and size of the keyway in relation to the shape of the punch. All Cleveland Steel Tool punches are furnished with a back taper unless otherwise specified.
